Regional Director/Dean of Engineering and Information Technology

NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Regional Director / Dean of Engineering and Information Technology. Reporting to the Vice-President, Academic Development, this dual-senior leadership role includes provincial leadership of the engineering and information technology academic sectors in the role as Dean, as well as regional and operational leadership as Regional Director of the Saint John Campus. The incumbent will be a strong relationship builder committed to the success of NBCC, with the ability to engage students and staff to realize their full potential, and to demonstrate community leadership in alignment with NBCCs strategic vision, purpose and values.

 

As Dean, you will continuously assess and evaluate College-wide training needs to ensure that programs reflect emerging training and industry trends. The incumbent will work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver impactful education programming that supports improved educational outcomes for all learners.

 

As Regional Director, you will foster a safe, caring, and innovative College community. The successful candidate will be a supportive colleague and leader who effectively leads change by inspiring collaborative involvement and engagement. This position requires keen business acumen, entrepreneurial spirit, and proven results-driven management experience in order to successfully lead student engagement, academic delivery and community participation. Other specific duties include staff and resource management, operational planning and performance measurement, and strategic enrolment management.

 

Required qualifications for this opportunity include either a Master’s Degree in engineering, information technology, education or a related field and a minimum of six (6) years of recent and related progressively responsible management experience; OR a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, information technology, education or a related field and a minimum of eight (8) years of recent and related progressively responsible management experience. Recent and related progressive work experience must include the management, administration and supervision of programs, program delivery and services, ideally within a secondary or post-secondary education environment; as well as management of human, physical, and financial resources. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

 

Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment, as well as those possessing a professional background and expertise in Civil/Building Systems Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or Information Technology.

 

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

 

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

 

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $100,386 to $110,500.
